The Philosophy of Ramana Maharshi in 30 Words

Pure Consciousness is the Self. You are not the body and mind; you’re the Self. Self is realised with dead mind, that is, mind devoid of thoughts and turned inward.

    1. The mind is defined differently in different contexts. Sometimes it is said to be a mere “bundle of thoughts”. So, going by that definition, you would be right to question whether a mind devoid of thought is still a mind. However, other times mind is defined as the I-thought or the root thought from which all other thoughts spring. By that definition, a mind devoid of thoughts would simply be the I-thought.
